Tarik served 18 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and recently retired as a Social Work Officer.

 

Tarik has extensive knowledge and experience in treating clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, decreased self-esteem/confidence, trauma/PTSD, couples conflict, family issues, substance use, and who are struggling with shame.

 

Tarik has been instrumental in advocating for LGBTQ+ rights in the military and in implementing  policies supporting LGBTQ+ individuals. He marched with the military for their first induction into the Toronto Pride Parade in 2008, and has mentored other LGBTQ+ members in uniform.
