Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Marika is a registered psychotherapist who grounds her practice in trauma-informed and body-based approaches to therapy. She holds a Masters of Education in Counselling from Acadia University and has over 10 years of experience providing front-line support and counselling to women, children, and families in community-based settings. Marika is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Marika has completed training in somatic bodywork, attachment-based child and family therapy as well as neurobiology and trauma. Marika weaves these approaches throughout her work in individualized and personalized ways. Marika has been involved in grassroots social justice organizing for over a decade and continues to explore the ways her work as a therapist can dovetail with the work of decolonization and anti-racism on this land.
